The two of the most important parts of you care with us are firstly, your safety, and secondly, that we get to the underlying cause of your problem.

For these reasons, we spend around forty-five minutes on your consultation/examination before any treatment is given. We may also take x-rays to look more closely at the problem(s) before treatment.

Your first visit includes:

Talking about the background of your problem(s), together with a discussion of your general health.

A thorough examination of the problem, areas, including postural, range of motion, neurological and orthopaedic tests. Please note that you will NOT be required to be undressed for this.

At your follow up visit, you receive a report of findings, which is a detailed description of your problem together with a prescribed course of treatment. Your treatment will then begin, and you will receive your first chiropractic adjustment(s).

Nearly all low back, mid back, neck and trapped nerve problems (see WHAT WE TREAT) can be traced back to the spine not functioning properly. If you think about your car, you will know that as it has many complicated moving parts, these can break down. The human body is much more complicated, and as the spine is made of many moving parts, these too can ‘break down’.

At the heart of chiropractic treatment is a specialised type treatment, the adjustment. The adjustment works by restoring the movement and reducing the pain in the injured part(s) of the spine. It is safe, gentle, and effective. And yes, though you can expect hear a small ‘pop’ or ‘crack’, this is perfectly safe. Only a Doctor of Chiropractic is trained to give you a Chiropractic adjustment.

If you are wondering if we could help you as you look around the site, you are welcome to ring us for an informal chat over the phone. Our front desk staff can usually answer your questions, or will get one of our Chiropractors to give you a call.
