Children are welcome at our clinic
What happens when you visit us?
At your first visit we get you to fill in some paperwork while you have a cup of tea or coffee. Your consultation includes talking about your problem, examining the painful areas and looking at your health in general. You will not be required to be undressed for this as we have gowns which fully cover you. Your first visit usually takes around an hour.
If we need to take x-rays - for example to look for underlying or hidden causes of your problem, this is arranged within a day or so usually. We have our own digital x-ray department which means that we can find out what's wrong and start your treatment as soon as possible. We also show you the X-ray pictures.
At your follow up visit, you will receive a report of findings, which is a detailed description of your diagnosis together with a prescribed course of treatment. Your treatment will then begin. How does the treatment work?
Nearly all muscle, joint and nerve problems (see what we treat ) can be traced back to these body parts losing their proper movement and function. The resulting pain is your body's warning signal that something is wrong.
Our Chiropractors use gentle, safe effective forms of manipulation which are done by hand. The treatment is adapted to suit each person and can be safely used for children, adults and senior citizens. Chiropractors use special forms of manipulation known as adjustments which relieve pain and restore movement and function.
Chris and Jenny use a variety of soft tissue (muscle, ligament and tendon) massage techniques to relieve pain and increase movement. Chris also uses equipment such as laser, ultrasound and interferential treatment. This equipment is also used by physiotherapists. Both Chris and Jenny use therapeutic exercise to help prevent problems from returning.
